Retention Pond Walls
A concrete retention wall is designed to hold rain water indefinitely. It is not intended to release the storm water from the subdivision property.
The water is designed to be held until it evaporates, and in some circumstances, leaches into the ground below. A concrete retention pond wall will often have water standing in it, unlike concrete detention pond walls, which are dry when there is no rain.
Concrete retention walls and detention walls are constructed to hold storm water runoff from the streets within the subdivision. This prevents the chances of flash flooding. However, the words retention pond and detention pond are often used interchangeably, though there is a big difference between the two. Herbert Construction Co. is happy to help understand which wall you need.
